Company co-founder Thomas L. Schriber announced the appointment of Donahue. Schriber, who was president and CEO, has now assumed the post of chairman.
Patrick Donahue had been executive vice president for asset management and was responsible for all third party and REIT operations for Donahue Schriber, which is a privately held REIT. He is a 24-year veteran of the company and worked in every aspect of the business, including leasing, asset management and development. He is a trustee for the International Council of Shopping Centers, serving as a frequent conference speaker for that group and the Institute of Real Estate Management.
In his new role as president and COO, Donahue will chair the executive committee, which will be composed of Schriber, CFO Lawrence P. Casey and executive vice president of development Mark L. Whitfield. The other slot will be filled by Donahue's replacement as executive vice president for asset management.
Donahue Schriber owns and operates 67 neighborhood, community, power and regional centers encompassing more than 13 million sf of retail space in California, Nevada and Arizona. The firm has developed or redeveloped in excess of 15 million sf of retail space in its 34-year history.
