Five buildings at Roosevelt Road and Loomis Street will be replaced by 2,441 units of market-rate, affordable, public-subsidized rental and for-sale housing in LR Development's plan. The new development, which will include an even three-way split between affordable, market-rate and replacement public housing units, has been dubbed Roosevelt Square.
The development is expected to connect with the nearby Illinois Medical District and University of Illinois-Chicago.
LR Development's skill set also includes historic redevelopments, including an award-winning makeover of the Hyatt Hotel at the Cleveland Arcade and Fort Sheridan.
