Not only is Santa Barbara-based Somera Communications Inc. going to be the first tenant into AmberPoint Business Park at 301 Northpoint Dr. in Coppell, but its 84% means control of a 308,000-sf warehouse/distribution project. "It was probably one of the largest deals made in that submarket (in 2002)," John Fulton, senior vice president in Dallas for Houston-based Transwestern Commercial Services, tells GlobeSt.com. He and vice president Todd Jones won the original lease to take their 2002 year-end tally to 600,000 sf in the Coppell submarket. The expansion too belonged to the team in negotiations with the one-time Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc. team of Jack Fraker, Susan Pausky and Mari Jones, the tenant's representatives.

Somera signed both leases for the long term in staking claim to its first space in Dallas-Fort Worth. Occupancy is set for April 1.

AmberJack Ltd. , the real estate group for Bloomington, IL-based State Farm Insurance Co., is the developer of the AmberPoint Business Park, situated northeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. At build-out, the park will contain two million sf of bulk distribution product.
