The Cencor catch is Joseph W. Karp, who has been assigned to a four-million-sf portfolio of retail and commercial space around town. He previously was vice president and asset management director for Equity One Inc. and helped with its takeover of Investors Realty Trust of Houston. He also was a longtime VP at Weingarten Realty Trust. Telephone calls seeking comment were not returned before press time.
Karp's background includes managing principal of Realty/REIT Advisors, a consulting practice that focused on providing real estate and organizational enhancements to private organizations and governments such as Poland, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Slovakia, Turkey and Russia. In Eastern Europe, he helped establish the National Association of Property Managers and the Real Estate Industry Council in Poland while acting as a government adviser in the drafting of real estate laws in Poland and Romania.
Houston-based Caldwell Watson Real Estate Group hired Brad Fishman as vice president and general counsel. The 15-year attorney previously worked at American Tower Cos., where he specialized in commercial acquisition and leasing.
