Designed by RTKL, the two-building project will consist of a 20-story tower with 146 units and a four-story low-rise with 72 urban lofts. Tribble & Stephens of Houston is the general contractor for the infill project ticketed for the intersection of McKinney and Blackburn avenues, 1.4 miles south of the CBD. The project carries an 18-month construction schedule.

Kevin Wisdom, ZOM Texas senior vice president, tells GlobeSt.com that the project, pegged at more than $45 million, has been in the talking stages for about eight months. ZOM acquired the 2.8-acre project site about two weeks ago, he says.

The units at Waverly at Cityplace will have 18-foot ceilings, full-glass exterior walls with views of the downtown and high-demand amenities such as a fitness room and clubroom with business center component. The average unit size will be 1,427 sf.

In January, ZOM Texas broke ground on 207 units, the Townes at Prestonwood, in North Dallas. Wisdom is overseeing both projects.
