The 9,694-sf building at 1509 Marion Street and 1175 E. Colfax Ave., was built in the 1890s by Earl Coe, "an amazingly forgotten character from turn-of-the-century Denver," according to Marc S. Lippitt and Scott L. Shwayder, who represented the seller, Kram-Coe Mansion LLC.

Coe was a Midwesterner, who, after graduating from the University of Michigan school of law, migrated to Denver. In addition to practicing law, he was publisher of the Times-Sun Publishing Co., which published the long-defunct Denver Times newspaper.

The mansion includes 850 sf on the southeast corridor, which is rented. An establishment called "The Lounge" occupies the street level space. The second and third floors are vacant and need to be renovated.
