Sean Cahill, Sean McDonnell and Michael Dillon of CB Richard Ellis negotiated the lease on behalf of the tenant. Jeffrey Gage of the Albert B. Ashforth Co. represented the building ownership, Harbor Park Associates.
CB Richard Ellis officials say that Jergens will relocate its newly acquired subsidiary, John Frieda Professional Hair Care Co., which is currently housed in approximately 40,000 sf at 57 and 59 Danbury Rd. in Wilton, to the 393,000-sf Stamford Harbor Park complex. The company is expected to take occupancy by the end of April.
"The Andrew Jergens Co. chose the Stamford Harbor Park to take advantage of its close proximity to New York City and to further gain exposure for the company, especially for recruitment," states Bill Gentner, president and chief executive officer of the beauty care firm.
Jergens "had a lot of opportunities because of the amount of top-quality space available in the Stamford market," says CB Richard Ellis first VP Cahill. The deal, from start to finish, took approximately two months to close.
The Andrew Jergens Co., which was founded in 1882, has a brand portfolio that includes Ban antiperspirants; Jergens and Curél hand and body lotions; Bioré facial care; John Frieda Frizz-Ease and Sheer Blonde and Beach Blonde professional hair care products. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kao Corp.
