The 2,000-sf, three-bedroom, two-baths units will be priced from $159,000 to $229,000, according to the department of planning and development project manager James Wilson. Four of the units there will be affordably--priced within reach of buyers earning 100% or less of the area's median income. A fifth at 4714 S. Evans Ave., also owned by Jenny Builders, will be included in order for the project to meet a requirement for city financial assistance that 20% of the project be affordable.
The city had agreed to sell the site appraised at $470,000 to another developer, Ali D. Ata, but he dropped his plans.
Also on the South Side, a 13,068-sf lot at 434 W. Normal Pkwy. will be sold to Englewood Housing Group, LP II for $1, according to a committee recommendation. The site, appraised at $20,000, will be combined with others to develop a 40-unit town house project.
