Denver Parks and Parkways makes up more than 4,000 acres of city parks and more than 30 miles of developed urban parkways, and is a quality-of-life selling point used by commercial real estate brokers and economic development officials when selling Denver. The parkway system was developed in 1906 by Charles Mulford Robinson and George E. Kessler.

    Other 2003 National Planning Landmarks winnters include: Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming; The Appalachian Trail in West Virginia; and The East Bay Regional Park District in San Francisco.
