Georgia Power is giving the land directly to the Trust for Public Land which will turn it over to the National Park Service. Area brokers tell GlobeSt.com the land is conservatively valued at $450,000 or $26,470 per acre (60 cents per sf). The tract has 1,500 feet of frontage on the western side of the river and is in unincorporated Cobb County, near the Morgan Falls Dam.

The gift is part of a $143 million drive by the Park Service, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the Trust for Public Land and several public and private groups.
