In addition, the new agreement would require Wellshire Inn to invest $1.25 million dollars in capital improvements to enhance the clubhouse. The contract includes two-five year options if all requirements of the contract are met.
"The terms of this agreement not only increase revenues for the city, but ensure the future of this historic venue where weddings and other special memories have been celebrated for generations," says Mayor Wellington Webb.
The contract would also require the city to invest in capital improvements, including assuring compliance with ADA standards and electrical system updates. The tentative contract agreement will be presented to the to the GolfAdvisory board for review, and to the Parks & Recreation and Amenitiescommittee, consisting of City Council members, for approval.
