The awards, hailed by the New York Post as the Oscars of the business world, will be presented Wednesday at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York City. Hosted by Charles Osgood, host of CBS Sunday Morning and commentator for the CBS Radio Network, the ceremony will be broadcast nationwide on radio and worldwide via the Internet.
Pollack's firm and its affiliates own and operate more than 75 commercial and industrial properties in Arizona, California and Nevada totaling more than four million sf valued in excess of $250 million. Nearly 500 people have been nominated to receive the awards in more than 40 categories, including Best Overall Company, Best Executive, Best New Product or Service and Best Salesperson.
Named the Steviesä for the Greek word "crowned," the awards designed by RS Owens, the same company that makes the Oscar and the Emmy, will be presented to the winners. The judging committee includes Rich Karlgaard, publisher of Forbes, Bruce Nelson, chairman and CEO of Office Depot, marketing gurus Don Peppers and Martha Rogers, Anthony Robins, chairman and CEO of the Anthony Robbins Cos., Drew Schutte, publisher of Wired magazine, Jeffrey Tarr, chairman and CEO of Hoovers Inc., and Donald Trump, chairman, president and CEO of the Trump Organization.
