The projects includes luxury apartments (which, as GlobeSt.com recently reported sold for $52 million), retail shops, office space, city administrative offices, the Englewood Public Library, Englewood Municipal Court, cultural arts organizations, indoor and outdoor art sculptures, an RTD light rail station, and a public piazza with a fountain and an amphitheater.

"I'm honored to recognize CityCenter Englewood for its outstanding efforts to empower Colorado residents by attracting private-sector investments and creating higher-skill, higher-wage jobs," says Commerce Secretary Don Evans. "This award is a great example of our appreciation of organizations like this one to help grow the economy and create jobs for local citizens."

Robert Simpson, Englewood Community Development Director, says he appreciates the recognition for the development."This award is a welcome mat for business," Simpson says. "It creates awareness for replication of this type of projects around the U.S. But closer to home, it creates awareness within the Denver metro area and Rocky Mountain region on benefits to the community in terms of more jobs, housing choices, new revenue sources, and people excited about being here.
