Kim Talley of the Duke team represented the building owner, Washington Mutual, with Vic Montalbo of Epstein & Associates in Santa Monica negotiating for the Vitamin Shoppe. Jim Duke tells GlobeSt.com that the Vitamin Shoppe is expected to move into the new location later this year, pending the completion of substantial tenant improvements. He says the site is an excellent retail location in a freestanding building at Randolph Street and Imperial Boulevard.

The new Brea store is part of a Southern California expansion for the North Bergen, NJ-based Vitamin Shoppe chain, which plans to open about 60 stores in California in the next two years. The chain opened its first Orange County location several months ago in Aliso Viejo. At that time, Vitamin Shoppe officials told GlobeSt.com that they had already signed 10 leases for Southern California stores and were expecting to sign another 30 in the next two years in the Southland.
