Abel, who was part of a CBRE team that represented Summit, tells GlobeSt.com that the career college is expected to move into its new space in July. Abel and Charles Stos, also of CBRE's Anaheim office, represented Summit. Dick Silva of Lee & Associates of Newport Beach, along with Bob Engen and Jim Hawkins of Lee & Associates' City of Orange office, represented the building owner, North Orange County Community College District.

Summit will use the space for vocational training for adults in the health and education fields, with the Anaheim location serving as a satellite campus offering certificate programs. Abel tells GlobeSt.com this is the first satellite campus for Summit, which has its main campus at Colton.

The building is a 10-story, 210,000-sf facility at 1830 Romneya Dr. that formerly was a hospital. The community college district purchased and renovated the building in 2002. Engen tells GlobeSt.com that the community college district has moved its offices to the building and will also use some of the facility for classrooms. The Anaheim Campus for Higher Education is one of three campuses of the North Orange County Community College District.

Summit's space is part of a 65,000-sf block that the district is marketing for lease to other public and private educational organizations and vocational schools. Summit is the first tenant to take space in the 65,000 sf, leaving a little more than 50,000 still available, Engen says.
