West Wood Products purchased the larger of the two buildings, a 91,000-sf structure at 2943 E. Las Hermanas St. for $3.5 million, according to Frank Hillebrand of Grubb & Ellis Co.'s South Bay office in Torrance. Hillebrand and John Lasiter, also of Grubb & Ellis' South Bay office, represented the buyer and the seller, New York-based Sequa Corp. The freestanding brick building will house the firm's headquarters, sales offices and distribution operation. The company has relocated to the new building from a 15,000-sffacility in Paramount.
In the second deal, transportation firm Total Intermodal purchased a 37,276-sf industrial building at 19118 S. Reyes Ave. for $2.1 million from private investors based in Rancho Dominguez. Total Intermodal is slated to occupy the building in September. The company is relocating from Carson. Hillebrand and Lasiter represented the seller, with Jack Karp of National Properties Group in Gardena representing the buyer.
