Progressive County Mutual Insurance Co. of New Mayfield signed a five-year lease for a 28,000-sf freestanding building, situated on 1.5 acres at 10835 S. Wilcrest Dr. in the far southwest, Chris Caudill with the Houston office of NAI Partners Commercial tells GlobeSt.com. He and John Ferruzzo, also with NAI Partners, represented the building owner, Houston-based Mullins Epley JV. Tenant improvements are underway at the property, with move-in scheduled for early to mid-June.
Caudill says freestanding buildings with acreage are difficult to find in the southwest Houston submarket. That and the property's location along a major thoroughfare, offering good visibility, were dealmakers from the tenant's perspective. NAI's Will Swanson, also in Houston, represented the tenant.
Swanson says his client also leased a 21,000-sf building situated on nearly five acres at 505 West Canino Rd. on the north side of town. According to Harris County's Appraisal District, the property is owned by Brighton Homes Ltd. of Houston. Swanson, who negotiated Canino Road lease single-handedly, said his client firmly believes that the new concept of drive-through claims center will better service its customers.
