Robert Harrison of Dunn says the Kidney Center signed for 8,000 sf in a 12-year, $2.5-million lease at 1808 Verdugo Blvd. in Glendale with property owner, Verdugo Hills Hospital Professional Buildings of Verdugo Hills. Harrison represented the building owner; Mike Dettling of Ramsey Shilling Co. in Toluca Lake brokered the terms for the tenant. The lease is an expansion for the Chatsworth-based Kidney Center, according to Harrison, who tells GlobeSt.com that the medical firm will move into the space in about four months after an extensive build-out is completed.

In the other transaction, the Cancer Detection Center signed for 5,025 sf in a five-year, five-month sublease for $554,504 at 1230 W. Third St. in Los Angeles. Harrison represented both the tenant, a non-profit institution offering cancer screening services for women and men, and the sub-landlord, La Vida Multispecialty Medical Center of Lawndale.

Harrison says the Cancer Detection Center is expected to move into its space within a few days in a relocation from about 6,500 sf at the corner of Sixth and Lucas streets in Los Angeles. Although the screening center will occupy less space at the new address, the offices will be more efficient because the space is contiguous and not spread out in several locations as it was at Sixth and Lucas, Harrison says.
