Tres Amigos World Imports, a Tucson-based importer of pine furniture and accessories handcrafted in Mexico, has taken out leases for retail sites in Tempe and Scottsdale. Chris Gerow, with NAI Horizon of Phoenix, tells GlobeSt.com that Tres Amigos selected the two locations because of the strong demographics in the area. "They're both in good trade zones," he noted.

The firm's parent company, TADM LLC, inked a 41-month lease valued at $296,543 for 19,420 sf at Lake Country Village at 1030 E. Baseline Rd. in Tempe with building owner, LCV Property Inc. of Phoenix. The store will open in six months.

A second store, totaling 18,000 sf, will open soon at East Thunderbird Square at the northeast corner of Scottsdale and Thunderbird Roads in Scottsdale under a $1.4-million, 87-month lease with building owner, East Thunderbird Square LLC of Phoenix. The firm recently opened a Tres Amigos outlet at 4907 W. Bell Rd. in Glendale and has other locations in Tucson and Denver.

The Tempe store will open in space formerly occupied by Bova Furniture, which is moving to a larger location in the same plaza. The firm's Scottsdale operation will share the shopping center with Smart & Final, World Imports and Ashley Furniture.

Gerow and Shelby Tworek, also with NAI Horizon, Phoenix, negotiated the leases for the tenant. Bob Pearlstein with CB Richard Ellis Inc.'s Phoenix office represented Thunderbird Square LLC in the Scottsdale deal while Zach Pace with Commercial Advisors of Phoenix bargained the terms for LCV Property Inc. in the Tempe transaction.
