A WorkPlaceUSA contact says the firm's president and CEO is the only real estate professional in this year's line-up of the 25 finalists picked for North Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. The winner will be announced June 14 at a banquet in the Great Hall of the International Apparel Mart in Dallas.
The annual awards program began in 1986 in one city and now encompasses more than 150 cities in 35 nations. More than 900 entrepreneurs will be honored this year. The North Texas finalists' roster includes Kenneth Cole of Valor Telecom; John Davis of Pegasus Solutions; Scott Decker of HEALTHvision; Max L. Martin of ARGO Data Resource Corp.; and Kathleen Mason of Tuesday Morning. The winner gets invited to the World Entrepreneur of the Year ceremony in Monte Carlo.
Carter & Burgess Inc.'s Craig Hale will be serving on the national advisory board of the Retail Contractors Association. Hale is a vice president and national director of retail stores for the Fort Worth-based firm's retail and distribution division. The national association is comprised of more than 80 retail contractors. The membership roster, Hale said in a release, "includes many top-notch design and construction professionals associated with some of America's top retailers."
McCarthy Building Cos.' Chris Peck, vice president of business development for the Texas division, recently was appointed to the board of directors for the North Texas Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. Peck, a 15-year professional, has worked in McCarthy's Dallas office for the last three years. The ABC's national presence consists of more than 23,000 members in 80 chapters representing the construction industry and related fields.
