The New Mexico-based research and development firm signed a three-year lease for the property bought late last year as an investment by R&C Maier, Gloria Parrino with the Houston office of Betz Commercial Realty tells GlobeSt.com. She represented the building owner and Fred Sklar of Perlmutter & Associates in Houston was the tenant's representative. The building, located near George Bush Intercontinental Airport, has been empty since its acquisition.

In an unrelated transaction, Parrino represented Houston-based Sovereign Oil & Gas Co. in a short-term extension of a 2,202-sf office lease at 3555 Timmons in southwest Houston. Steve Rocher of Grubb & Ellis Co.'s Houston office represented the building owner, Timmons Texas Ltd. The tenant's been part of the roster for three years at the 234,000-sf building, situated inside Loop 610.
