The project, Eton Street Station, is a new community that will feature 18buildings of live/work units, townhomes and artisan lofts.
Developer Crosswinds Communities is hard at work marketing the 49 new2,100-sf townhomes, said Christopher Arvanites of the company.The project is being build atop the former Erb Lumber site.
Being developed under mixed-use district zoning, the community will feature10 artisan lofts, 51 row houses and 124 live/work townhomes for a total of185 homes. The community has been designed to complement Birmingham'sarchitectural environment, Arvanites said.
Besides the townhomes, the project will include four-level buildings with aground floor workspace, and separate condominiums in the top three floors,Arvanites told GlobeSt.com.
"The new townhomes, being sold now, will start at about $269,990," saidArvanites.
"Our model should be ready by the end of July. We hope to have the firsthomeowners in by August-September. The project will take two to three years tofinish."
