Costa Mesa-based ARV says the two companies considered a number of locations for the new national office of the merged firm, deciding finally to locate the primary corporate office at ARV's existing facilities at 245 Fischer Ave., with some corporate functions remaining at Atria's offices in Louisville, KY. The consolidation of the corporate offices will occur over the next nine months. The companies say they chose Orange County for the main corporate facility because their California properties represent a significant portion of their revenue and they wanted to be stay close to those facilities.

The two companies are combining as the result of the previously announced merger of ARV and Atria, which is a subsidiary of an affiliate of New York-based Prometheus Assisted Living LLC. As part of the merger, ARV's former chairman and CEO, Douglas M. Pasquale, will serve as the new president and CEO of Atria Senior Living Group and Abdo H. Khoury, former president and CFO of ARV, will serve as the new COO. The newly formed Atria Senior Living Group will employ nearly 8,000 workers and have the capacity to serve approximately 15,000 seniors at 135 assisted and retirement living communities in 26 states.
