Forty subcontractors donated more than $500,000 in labor and materials to complete the renovation work at the Dreier Family Children's Center, part of Phoenix Day. The expansion added 1,500 sf of new classroom space, a Health Links Clinic, food service facility and staff resource room to the daycare facility. The project also included a patio extension and rotunda at the play area, new sidewalks, a paved parking lot, landscape package and site lighting.
At an open house marking the completion of the project earlier this month, Governor Janet Napolitano said Phoenix Day, which has been operating its non-profit childcare facility since 1915, "offers hope and strength to parents and children who are doing their level best to simply be normal, productive and prosperous families."
The project was spearheaded by Phoenix Day, Wespac Construction Inc., Wagner Partnership and Orcutt/Winslow Partnership.
