Vestar Development Co. and SGPA Architecture & Planning beat out 56 other applicants from nine countries to take the honor, which recognizes the vision and creativity of the center's central design.
The marketplace, located at Deer Valley Road and Tatum Boulevard near Loop 101, is an open-air center that includes five distinct shopping neighborhoods spanning 110 acres linked by shaded pedestrian walkways. The marketplace includes interactive fountains, outdoor fireplace, several restaurants and clubs, 19 major retailers and an entertainment court anchored by an 18-megaplex theater. Among the marketplace's major tenants are Target Greatland, PetsMart, Pier 1 Imports and Marshall's. A Kohl's and TGI Friday's are set to open this fall.
