Robert Drabkin, regional director for Mack-Cali, says the company made a decision last year to be very aggressive on pricing, landing tenants, and renewing tenants.

He let the word out in the brokerage community he wants to know about every deal that would work in a Mack-Cali building. The financial strength of Mack-Cali allows it to cut attractive deals, while still maintaining excellent client service, he says. Also, Mack-Cali owns all of its buildings in the metro area outright. Not carrying any mortgages allows it to be more aggressive than many competitors, he says.

Recent deals include:

+ A 10-year lease renewal for a 72,610-sf office building at 9359 E. Nichols Ave. in Englewood, CO. First Tennessee Bank National Association, a division of First Tennessee National Corp. is the tenant. Dan Burke of Trammell Crow represented the tenant and John Fefley, Mack Cali's leasing director and Drabkin, represented Mack-Cali.

+ A five-year lease renewal for a 69,145-sf office building at 285 Century Place in Louisville, CO, along the Northwest corridor. McKesson Information Solutions LLC, a provider of supply management and healthcare products and services, is the tenant. The brokers were Brian Gleason of Trammell Crow's San Francisco office and Dan Burke and Richard Damm of Trammell Crow's Denver office, which represented the tenant. Fefley and Drabkin represented Mack-Cali.

+ Century Business Services Inc., a corporate accounting, benefits and technology consulting firm, signed a new 10-year lease for 28,178 sf at 8181 E. Tufts Ave., Denver. Phil Yeddis of Unique Properties and Steven L. Joseph of Gibraltar Real Estate Services Corp. represented the tenant and Mack-Cali was represented in-house by leasing director John Fefley and Drabkin.

Drabkin tells GlobeSt.com that Mack-Cali is on pace to continue its strong leasing activity for the rest of the year.
