Designed with a European flair, the boutique hotel at El Alcalde 15 offersstylish features, including a rooftop spa and fitness center with panoramicviews of the snow-capped Andes less than an hour away.
Designed by the architectural firm of Alemparte, Barreda y Asociados, the15-story exterior is accented by a brick facade and imported travertinemarble. The interior of The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago was designed by the firmof Cummins, Echeverria y Cia, and includes furnishings and art imported fromColombia, Europe, and the United States.
The addition of the Santiago hotel is a strategic move, said Simon Cooper,president and chief operating officer of the company."We believe a presence in Chile's capital city is key to the success of ourglobal expansion. As our first hotel in Latin America, this property willattract discerning business and leisure travelers who already useRitz-Carlton hotels in other countries."
The hotel has 11 function rooms. The hotel's total conference space equals753 square meters, with capacity for up to 600. A separate entrance anddedicated parking area will add to the convenience of meeting planners andattendees. The hotel will also have a fully staffed business center with arange of technology for traveling executives.
The 205 rooms and suites at The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago will include oneRitz-Carlton suite, 12 executive Suites and three club suites.Opening introductory rates for the hotel range from $179 and are availablethrough August 30, 2003.
The company, based in Atlanta, manages 52 hotels and resorts in Africa,Asia, and Europe.
