Those attending the ground breaking include: Mayor Wellington E. Webb; Gail Klapper, chairwoman of the Denver Convention Center Hotel Authority; Cathy Reynolds, Denver city council president; Greg Eden, CEO of Austin-based FaulknerUSA, the developer; and Nick Pritzker, president of Hyatt Development Corporation.

The 37-story hotel will include 60,600 sf of flexible meeting space and conference facilities and a 300-seat three-meal restaurant, lounge/bar area and convention bar. Hyatt's signature Business Plan and Gold Passport rooms will also be part of the new hotel. The hotel also will include a health club featuring state-of-the-art equipment as well as an indoor lap pool.

Currently, there are 209 Hyatt hotels and resorts around the world. Hyatt Corp. and its affiliates manage, franchise or operate 123 hotels and resorts in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. Affiliates of Hyatt International Corporation manage, franchise or operate 86 hotels and resorts in 39 countries.
