The building and parking lot, which is just under an acre, is being used as overflow storage for the school district's nearby food distribution facility, John Ferruzzo with the Houston office of NAI Partners Commercial tells GlobeSt.com. According to Ferruzzo, Houston ISD has signed a medium-term lease for the building.

Ferruzzo says the school district wasn't necessarily looking for the space, but the 1950-vintage building is "right around the corner" from the main facility so officials jumped at the chance to lease it when it came to market.

Maury Street is lined with older industrial buildings. The Dallas-based building owner of record,1213 Maury St., also owns a 63-year-old, 4,000-sf warehouse in the same neighborhood. Ferruzzo represented the building owner while the Houston ISD used in-house representatives to structure the terms.
