Known as the Heurich House--even since the Foundation's 1982 donation of the property to the Historical Society--the 16,000-sf mansion and carriage house has an assessed value of $2.6 million. Coldwell Banker/ Pardoe Real Estate marketed Heurich House on behalf of the Foundation.

Heurich House has long served as a museum and tourist destination in the popular Dupont Circle neighborhood. Also, the Historical Society had used the property as its headquarters until it recently relocated its corporate offices to the City Museum, which is housed in the 60,000-sf Carnegie Library Building. The old new owners--grandchildren of the building's namesake, German brewer Christian Heurich--will keep the mansion open to the public as a museum and garden.
