The tenant is leaving 70,140 sf of ProLogis-owned space in another of its buildings at 1940 Afton Dr. for the Wingfoot Distribution Center at 9455 W. Wingfoot Dr., situated between Interstate 10 and US Highway 290. The industrial space came on line due to a lease termination.
"Our growth potential was stymied in the old building," Jason Tidwell, Southern Corrugated's operations manager says of a relocation search that didn't go beyond Denver-based ProLogis' reach. Southern Corrugated Box has been a ProLogis tenant since 1998. Tidwell considers the firm a "model landlord," so much so that the box manufacturer leased a 16,000-sf facility in San Antonio from the company.
Robert T. Huthnance Jr., vice president for ProLogis, single-handedly brokered the deal. In Houston, ProLogis owns 9.5 million sf of industrial properties.
