State Street Bank & Trust Co. of Dallas had the land on the market for six months to a year. Doug Gearing of Dallas-based Henry S. Miller Commercial said the land generated some interest, but Michael Staver of Dallas was the one who took it to the closing table after coming close to the asking price.
The acreage fronts US Highway 80 East and neighbors a large multifamily development. "It's a good location for retail," Gearing tells GlobeSt.com. To Gearing's knowledge, it's the only land that the EDS retirement plan owns in the immediate area.
