The Diocese of Phoenix put St. Benedict's Church on the market about a month ago when the congregation decided to build another one at 48th Street and Chandler Boulevard in Chandler after outgrowing its 20,000-sf facility at 6400 W. Del Rio St., Lee Noble with CB Richard Ellis' Phoenix office tells GlobeSt.com.

The first group to view the property, Valley Unitarian Universalist Church of Chandler, found it to be perfect for its congregation and offered $2.6 million for the property. "It worked out to be a perfect match," said Noble, who specializes in non-profit and church properties.

The Unitarian Church will move from 1700 W. Warner Rd. to the new church within the next 90 days, said Noble, who represented the diocese in the sale transaction. Valley Unitarian was assisted in the sale by Gary DeGennaro of Re/Max Achievers in Phoenix.
