Harvey will add his scientific knowledge to the mix, as he currently serves as a consultant and researcher in chemical process, energy and environmental technologies. An Old Town resident, Harvey will bring real estate skills to the table, since he also works as a property manager.
Starr, who also lives in Old Town, will share his years of real estate experience with the group. A member of the Old Town Community Planning Committee, he has participated in San Diego's real estate construction and development industries since 1958.
Returning board member Chivers has also played an active role in shaping San Diego's development process. She has served on the board since 1990 and also acted for six years as chair of the Old Town Community Planning Board.
Like Chivers, Furlong is another integral fixture when it comes to planning Old Town's growth. This returning member also sits on the board of the Historic Old Town Community Foundation and the Boosters of Old Town San Diego. In addition, she previously served on the San Diego Historical Resources Site Board.
As members of the Old Town San Diego Planned District Design Review Board, all four appointees will be responsible for advising the planning director on architectural design for development projects in compliance with the planned district regulations and procedures.
