The company has designated Julie Webster as general manager.

The 84-suite SpringHill Suites will be one of the more than 100 nationwide under the new Marriott flag. SpringHill amenities include suites that offer 25% more space than traditional hotel rooms, free internet access, a complimentary breakfast buffet, valet services and laundry area, meeting room and exercise facility. Guest suites feature separate sleeping and living areas, including desks, in-room microwaves, refrigerators and coffee services, pullout sofas and lounge chairs and remote-controlled televisions. The accommodations are priced from $79 to $99 a night.

The company did not release its development cost.

With Southfield's SpringHill Suites and the construction of a Residence Inn by Marriott in the company's Timbercreek Corporate Park in Novi, Etkin's lodging portfolio consists of 12 properties. The Southfield-based real estate investment and development organization's other Detroit area hotels include the full-service Detroit Marriott Pontiac at Centerpoint, the neighboring Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott Residence Inn as well as the Holiday Inn and Marriott Residence Inn, both in Dearborn, MI. Last year, Etkin's Denver affiliate opened Colorado's first SpringHill Suites, a 164-suite hotel in Westminster, MI.

White Lodging Services Corp. of Merrillville, IN manages all the hotels owned by Etkin.
