Alan Patton joins a 326-member board, which includes 15 members from 11 Houston firms. The board most often has two members per firm, says a council spokesman. In the case of the luxury multifamily developer, Morgan Group, its principal and CEO, Michael Morgan, also sits on the national council.
The council is a recognized lobbyist for multi housing issues. Patton says issues being addressed right now include affordable housing and mold remediation, both hot topics in Houston circles. The council also conducts apartment-related research, encourages the exchange of strategic business information and promotes the desirability of apartment living.
