"Clayton Lane will be to Cherry Creek North what Larimer Square is to Lodo," says Nichols, who is turning the Sears parking lot into a mixed-use development including retail, offices and the city's first J.W. Marriott hotel. Janus, the large mutual fund family, is the anchor tenant in the office component. A Wholes Food store already is open.

"Our location offers access to Cherry Creek like no other residential development," Nichols says. "Everything a homeowner needs will be right at their doorstep. Whole Foods will be their pantry. There will be coffee shops, diverse shopping, top-notch restaurants and relaxing courtyards all within steps of their home.
