The newest contract is with the Jacksonville-based Scott-McRae Group to design and build a $4 million, 35,230-sf Duval Acura showroom at 10957 Atlantic Blvd. The groundbreaking is scheduled for September with completion targeted for March 2004.
At the same time, Stiles is completing another showroom for the same owner at 1325 Cassat Ave. where a Duval Honda center is slated for completion in December. Stiles has been on a fast development track with automotive centers for the past five years.
"This project continues our tradition of service to the retail automotive industry," says Stiles Construction president Timothy Moore. "Providing facilities for this sector has emerged as one of our major construction specialties throughout the Southeastern states."
The Duval Honda project will include an 18-service bay, air-conditioned service facility, not always seen in the auto services industry, Moore says. The building will also have an express lube and express car wash component, a parts and accessories department and second-floor administrative offices.
The Duval Acura structure will also have an air-conditioned, 25-bay service area. Stiles Construction Co. is a division of Stiles Corp., a 52-year-old commercial developer which has built 25 million sf of office, industrial and retail space throughout the Southeast and nationally.
