"Too many working families today do not earn enough to afford modest housing," National Low Income Housing Coalition president Sheila Crowley notes. "Homelessness in this country will not end without a federal investment in affordable housing." The National Trust Fund portion of the legislation is essentially an act within an act; legislation to establish the fund has already been introduced and has 205 cosponsors, to date. The Bringing America Home Act was brought to the table along with 27 House cosponsors.
