Andrisen Morton, formed 25 years ago to sell men's clothing, is buying Auer's, a women's boutique that sells US and European designer labels.
The two stores anchor East Second and East Third avenues on St. Paul Street.
Both stores will keep their existing stores and locations.
As part of the transaction, Andrisen Morton is buying the 19,00-sf building at 210 St. Paul St. that houses Auer's and several offices.
Terms were not disclosed.
Dick Auer, owner of his namesake store, will turn 70 next year and has spent 44 years in the clothing business.
Dave Morton and Craig Andrisen founded Andrisen Morton. Their first store was in downtown and expanded into the Denver Tech Center in 1985, before consolidating into a 10,000-sf store they lease in Cherry Creek North.
Retail experts applaud the purchase, saying it is a brilliant move and a perfect fit.
