J. Reagan Dixon, who left the corporate ranks for consulting, has teamed with his longtime friend, Sayres Dudley, sealing talks that began in March when the 20-year-old Dallas-Fort Worth business started a search of its own for an expansion play. With a powerbroker like Dixon on board, Dudley says he will sit tight on adding names for at least nine months.

Dixon will spend the bulk of his workday at Interlink Partners at 12801 N. Central Expressway, which serves as the home base for his consulting firm. But, he also will be guiding the operations of Dudley & Associates' Dallas office, which is led by Jonathan Dudley who took over so his father could set up a Los Angeles branch. "Reagan's adding an executive search component to his company and I have added a management, consulting and organizational consulting component to my company," Sayres Dudley tells GlobeSt.com.

Dixon's corporate life as a top executive for Cawley Wilcox Partners Inc. and Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc. is a perfect fit for the search firm, "He's hired hundreds in his career in the Dallas real estate market," Dudley says.

Dixon, who exited Cawley Wilcox in October 2002, has built up a client roster with names such as Mohr Partners and CB Richard Ellis Inc., mostly training producers who want to hone their skills. He then earned his insurance agent's license and now is affiliated with Waldman Bros. Insurance, one of the oldest firms in the metroplex, and its holding company, Interlink Partners.

Dixon, one of the region's most highly regarded professionals, says his advice on employment has been sought by many of his former business associates since he left the corporate world. "I've become a focal point for companies needing people and people wanting to make a move," he says of the logic in the first-time alliance for both businessmen.

As part of the change, Dudley & Associates moved its office to 2399 Midway Rd. in Carrollton from 4011 Commerce St. in the Dallas CBD to get closer to Dixon's home office and the younger Dudley's residence. The firm, founded in 1983 to help corporations find executives, is a nationally recognized executive search and training firm, specializing in the commercial real estate and construction professions.
