C&W moved Burns into the new slot after evaluating his work for the past year as a research associate, according to Larry D. Richey, the firm's senior vice president and general manager of the local and Tampa divisions. Burns came to C&W from the local office of Grubb & Ellis Co. where he spent four years as a market research analyst.

At C&W, Burns will start as a junior appraiser and work with senior appraisers Steve Saunders and Brian Finnell. Jason Frazier replaces Burns as research associate.

Burns' development-related career began as a marketing assistant in with the Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corp. At the same time, from 1996 to 1998, he was an assistant to the business development manager at the Downtown Development Board. Burns holds a bachelor of arts degree in growth management studies from Rollins College in Winter Park. He majored in neo-traditional town planning.
