The board of Apartment Investment and Management Co. declared a dividend of slightly more than 63 cents per share on its publicly traded 10.1% Class Q Cumulative Preferred stock. The AIMCO board also declared a dividend of 62 cents per share on its publicly traded 10% Class R Cumulative Preferred stock. Dividends for both classes of preferred stock are payable to shareholders of record as of Monday and will be paid on Sept. 15, 2003.
AIMCO is by some measures the nation's largest apartment REIT. With 19 regional operating centers, AIMCO, through its subsidiaries, operates about 1,725 properties, which include 306,000 apartment units that serve a million residents.
AIMCO's properties are in 47 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. AIMCO shares, traded under the symbol AIV, are included in the S&P 500.
