It also named J. Drever of Boulder as VP-acquisitions to head the office. He will focus on Class A to Class C warehouse-distribution centers and one and two-story office buildings in Class A locations. Argus has acquired more than 2.5 million sf of Class A properties in just over two years.
"J's track record is perfect to help us expand into the central U.S.," says Richard Gee, chairman and CEO of Argus. "In the past 10 years, he's bought and sold $150 million in Sunbelt properties for a major REIT, managed a $150 million multi-state apartment portfolio and refinanced over 50 multifamily mortgage loans exceeding $250 million. He's grown up in the business of finding diamond-in-the-rough properties and restoring their luster with value-adding improvements and new functionalities." Gee adds that Drever also has direct access to more than a half billion dollars in private and institutional capital.
Drever, 34, was previously a principal and chief of acquisitions with Adam's Street Advisors, a Dallas-based investor and broker in apartment communities for institutional and high net worth investors. He holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Arizona. He recently relocated from Texas to Boulder where he was born and raised.
