The Ragin Cajun restaurant closed a five-year lease with five-year options for a center with an asking rate of $24 per sf, G. Peter Jacob of Weaver, Davis & Jacob Realty Group in Houston tells GlobeSt.com. He says there are several leases pending so it's highly likely that the center will open at 100% occupancy.

The Plaza at Lakeside is going up at the corner of US Highway 59 and Texas 6 in the First Colony development. Other Lakeside tenants are Cold Stone Creamery, Tapioca Express, Texas Rotisserie Chicken and Noodle House.

The new lease marks the fourth location for the Ragin Cajun chain in the Greater Houston area. The chain is owned by brothers, Luke B. Mandola Jr., and Dominic B. Mandola.

Jacob and partner Scott W. Weaver handled talks on behalf of the center's owner, Sugar Land Lakeside Plaza Ltd. James Namken of Moseley Commercial Real Estate in Houston represented Ragin Cajun.
