Huston, who has served on the board of Watson Land for six years, is a real estate attorney and a partner in the Los Angeles office of the Southern California-based law firm Booth, Mitchel & Strange LLP. Huston will succeed outgoing chairman William T. Huston, who spent 40 years with Watson.

Along with his new post, Robert Huston plans to continue his full-time real estate law practice, which focuses on real estate and construction contracts in addition to general business litigation. He joined Booth, Mitchel & Strange LLP in 1993 and is a member of numerous civic and community organizations and boards.

Watson Land traces its history back to Rancho San Pedro, California's first Spanish Land Grant. Its development program got under way in the early 1960s, concentrating on commercial properties, including industrial and office buildings. Over the past 40 years, the company has master planned and developed more than 1,000 acres of industrial and commercial property. In addition, the company has developed and now owns and manages approximately 12 million square feet of industrial, office and technology buildings and business centers.
