The new deal, announced by Jeffrey H. Newman, executive vice president of W&M Properties, the marketing and managing agent for the building, has Nestle renewing its 13,452 sf lease through 2015. The firm has been a tenant at the eight-story, 250,000-sf building since 1997.

"This renewal reinforces the strength of Fairfield County's class-A office market in retaining top-tier companies," Newman says. Founded in 1866, Nestle is one of the world's largest food and beverage companies with more than 230,000 employees and operations worldwide.

Newman was assisted by JoAnn B. McGrath, W&M's vice president of leasing and marketing, and by senior leasing associate Kathleen A. Caracappa in representing the building owner, an affiliate of the Malkin family. Nestle Holdings represented itself in the lease renewal discussions.

W&M officials note that for the first time in a few years, MerrittView has a large block of subdividable space available. The availability includes the full sixth floor, totaling almost 44,000 sf and space on other floors running in the range of 2,700 sf to 5,000 sf.
