Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers America, headquartered in Lincoln, NE, has had the holding at 10285 North Freeway on the market about three years as surplus real estate lingering from a competitor's takeover. Six months ago, the listing shifted to Allen Gump with Colliers International in Dallas, who says several would-be buyers surfaced, but Lee Finley of Keller placed the contract and made the close at a price close to the $3.5-million ask.

Finley, owner of Brand FX Body Co., has about 400,000 sf of manufacturing facilities in Swea City, IA and 715 Katy Rd. in Keller, about five miles east of the newly acquired site. Gump tells GlobeSt.com that Finley's plan is to use the land for another location for his GemTop line, a truck bedliner product that converts pickups into utility vehicles. The balance of the land, he says, is possibly being platted for a spec industrial park.
