Linda Alvarado received a $100,000 SBA loan in 1979 to help her launch the company. Today, it is one of the fastest growing commercial general contracting firms in the country and one of largest Hispanic-owned construction companies in the nation.

Alvarado Construction is one of the three firms that built Invesco Field at Mile High for the Denver Broncos, and also helped build the Denver International Airport and the Colorado Convention Center.

In 1991, Linda Alvarado bought a stake in the Colorado Rockies, becoming the first Hispanic to be an owner in a major league baseball team.
