Castle Hills Development Corp. put up land in Castle Hill's northern quadrant along Parker Road or FM 544. The ribbon-cutting is tentatively marked for 2005. The building's design is still on the drawing boards, but it's projected that it will run the norm, 25,000 sf to 30,000 sf. The building will feature an indoor basketball court, fully equipped fitness room, locker rooms, child-care center and outdoor pool. The donated land includes enough acreage for four multi-purpose athletic fields.
"The agreement represents a substantial financial investment on our part and it underscores our continuing commitment to create an infrastructure...that provides our residents with a wide variety of family-friendly choices," Scott Morris, Castle Hills Development's director of operations, said in a press release. The 2,500-acre Castle Hills design contains about 500 greenbelt acres.
The fast-paced growth in southeast Denton County mortared the YMCA's decision for the branch facility, said Gordon Echtenkamp, the non-profit's president and CEO in Dallas. Other branch facilities to the north of Dallas are situated in Frisco, Coppell and Plano.
